Pros And Cons Of Electric Bicycles
In my previous articles, I have talked about the advantages of electric bicycles and compare electric bikes with other vehicles. However, there is no perfect thing in the world. So there must be some disadvantages of electric bicycles and in this article I would like to give an objective discussion about electric bikes.
Advantages
The advantages of an electric bike are many. Here I will discuss some main advantages.
First, we can see that an electric bicycle is environmentally friendly. I think this advantage is the most obvious one. Nowadays, the environmental issues are becoming more and more serious, so a lot of people prefer to choose electric bicycles.
Second, electric bicycles are cheap. No matter maintenance or repair, electric bikes will not cost you much money. The price of an electric bike has dropped down. Besides, the parts used on electric bicycles can be found at ordinary bike shops. So the maintenance and repair will be much cheaper.
Third, electric bikes are very convenient. You need to have a license to drive a car but you need nothing to ride an electric bike. Moreover, when there is a traffic jam, electric bicycles can help you reach your destination fast.
Disadvantages
First, we should buy new batteries for our electric bicycles. The electric bicycle batteries will get old after being used for a long time. So we should buy a new one when then old one can not be used any more. And the dispose of the old batteries will cause air pollution.
Second, it is very hard to pedal or carry the electric bicycle when its battery runs out. So we should spend some time checking the battery before going out and this is very troublesome.
We can analyze that the advantages far outweigh the drawbacks, so choosing electric bikes is still wise.
